The Swiss NL team EHC Biel-Bienne has immediately relieved head coach Martin Filander of his duties.

Biel states in its announcement that the team has not achieved the desired sporting success, which led to the coaching dismissal. Currently, Biel is below the playoff line in 11th place.

Filander, 44, was in his second season coaching Biel. Last season, the team also finished in 11th place in the regular season.

Biel reports that it will temporarily continue under the guidance of assistant coaches Mathias Tjärnqvist and Beat Forster until the team finds a new head coach.

Several Finns play for Biel. The Golden Lions Harri Säteri, Toni Rajala, and Jere Sallinen have represented the team for a long time. Additionally, Niko Huuhtanen joined the team mid-season.
