The journey continues – a new team for KalPa's powerhouse!

KalPassa’s strong performer from last season, Tim Söderlund, returns to his home country of Sweden. Linköping HC announced that they have signed a contract with the 28-year-old forward that extends to the spring of 2027.

Söderlund played in the Liiga last season for two teams. The season started at TPS, where he recorded 6+5=11 points in 35 regular season games. The contract with the Turku club was terminated in January, after which the forward moved to KalPa.

The change of club brought a clear boost to Söderlund’s performance. At KalPa, he scored 10+11=21 points in 18 regular season games and added four assists in 11 playoff games. His total for the entire Liiga season was 53 games and 16+16=32 points.

Now Söderlund’s career continues again in Sweden. In addition to Linköping, his previous Swedish clubs include Skellefteå, Frölunda, Almtuna, and Djurgården.

– I really like the direction Linköping wants to go, and it feels great to be part of this journey. I was left with a very good impression of the club after discussions with the sports management, and I look forward to arriving in Linköping, Söderlund said on the club’s website.

Linköping’s sports director Broc Little believes Söderlund will strengthen the team especially with his speed and energy.

– Tim is a player who brings speed and energy to the team. He is always ready to compete every time he steps on the ice. He plays at a high pace, pressures opponents, and can create offensive plays in many different ways, Little said.
