TPS and forward Tim Söderlund Leger terminated their contract on Wednesday. Now the next destination for the Swede is known. He will join KalPa for the remainder of the season.

– With Mäenpää’s  injury, we need growth from every player, but we also need depth in the team. Söderlund Leger caught our attention last spring, and especially the last 20-game stretch with TPS was excellent for him. Tim is already familiar with the league and its ways, which helps with adaptation at this stage of the season. It is certainly important for us to quickly add depth to the team and integrate the player into the squad, commented KalPa’s sports director Anssi Laine on the club’s website.

– He is an excellent skater and really good at maintaining possession of the puck. He brings more speed and options for the coaching staff. Tim can play in many roles – he is strong in 5vs5 play, as well as on both power play and penalty kill. It’s great that we can bring him in to strengthen the team for the rest of the season.

Söderlund Leger has played 35 games for TPS this season. In those, he recorded 6+5=11 points.
