Names in the paper – Montreal Canadiens sign former top draft pick
The Montreal Canadiens have signed a one-year contract extension with forward Kirby Dach. The contract is worth 3.6 million dollars.
Dach, 25, was a restricted free agent before the contract was signed and was heading towards arbitration with the Canadiens. However, the new contract was finalized before the hearing.
Dach has suffered from several injuries throughout his career. Last season, he played only 37 regular-season games, recording 8+7=15 points. In the playoffs, Dach recorded 4+1 in 19 games.
Originally, Dach was the third overall pick in the first round by the Chicago Blackhawks in the summer of 2019. He was traded from Chicago to Montreal in the summer of 2022. In his NHL career, Dach has played a total of 306 regular-season games (51+85=136) and 28 playoff games (5+6=11).
The Canadiens have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with forward Kirby Dach.
