Montreal star to the dock – is there now a spot opening up for Patrik Laine?
On Tuesday, unfortunate yet interesting news from a Finnish perspective came from the Montreal Canadiens team.
The team announced that forward Kirby Dach will be sidelined for approximately 2-4 weeks. The injury-prone Canadian forward is suffering from an upper body injury.
At the same time, Dach’s injury sparked speculation about Patrik Laine’s potential return to the active roster. Several insider sources previously estimated that Laine would not be seen in the Canadiens’ active lineup this season without injuries to other forwards.
An opportunity would be important for the Finnish player, who is in the last year of his contract, also in terms of next summer’s trade market. Strong performances in the latter part of the season would significantly boost Laine’s stock in the free market.
