Jokerit: A familiar giant from the league caught in the net!
The Mestis team Jokerit has signed a contract for the remainder of the season with Latvian defender Miks Tumanovs, 24.
The 195 cm tall and 90 kg Tumanovs is a familiar face to Finns from JYP over the last two seasons. Tumanovs, who was seen in last spring’s World Championships, has also played on loan at KeuPa, TUTO Hockey, and Jukurit.
This season, Tumanovs has played nine games for the Slovakian HK Prešov, with stats of 2+0.
– Miks is a tall all-round defender who moves well. He has potential in the offensive direction, and we expect solid defensive play, says Jokerit’s sports director Olli-Pekka Yrjänheikki in a statement.
Tumanovs joined Jokerit’s roster today, Tuesday, and will be available for the Hermes game on Friday. Next week, the defender will spend time with the Latvian national team.
Jokerit also announced that they have mutually agreed to terminate the contract of Latvian defender Niks Fenenko.
The club also states that the test contract of defender Uula Ruika, which ends on October 31, 2025, will not be extended.
