The Swiss league EHC Biel-Bienne is among the “Finnish teams” in the league, as there are as many as four familiar Finns playing for the club.

In addition to Toni Rajala, who is representing the club for the tenth season, the team this season also includes Jere Sallinen, Oskari Laaksonen, and goalkeeper Harri Säteri. Additionally, the offense features a “fifth Finnish player,” as the Swede Marcus Sylvegård resembles the blue-and-white NHL star Patrik Laine strikingly in appearance. Even the player’s jersey number is the same 29 that Laine previously used in the NHL.

The club icon Rajala vividly remembers his first encounter with Sylvegård. The similarity to Laine was striking.

– “Patty” Sylvegård. The first time I saw him on the ice, I thought, he looks just like Patrik Laine. The skating style and… I’ve never asked if Laine is his favorite player. But he really is like a doppelgänger, Rajala laughs in the NHL Without a Map – Mission in Switzerland series.

– Right from the first ice in August, I thought, wait a minute, this guy looks familiar, Rajala compares Sylvegård, who seems to have also copied his hair and playing style from the Finnish goal scorer of the Montreal Canadiens.

Sylvegård is no ordinary player in the Swiss club, as the winger, who is part of Sweden’s EHT roster, has been scoring at nearly a point-per-game pace since the start of the season.

Do you also think Sylvegård looks like Laine’s doppelgänger? You can see for yourself in the video found here.
