Continuation contract for the league’s top scorer

JYP, which is having a great season in the Liiga, announced an important contract extension on Friday.
The powerhouse of the Jyväskylä club, Valtteri Ojantakanen, 25, will continue in the hurricane jersey for the 2026-27 season as well. Ojantakanen’s one-year contract extension was announced during the first period break of the SaiPa game.
Ojantakanen is now in his second season with JYP. A product of Jokerit, he has scored 15+4=19 points in 22 games played this Liiga season. Ojantakanen is JYP’s fourth highest scorer.
Previously, Ojantakanen represented SaiPa for five seasons. The forward has nearly 300 Liiga games under his belt.
