The familiar Finnish forward Teemu Lepaus, 33, has found a new team abroad. He will join the Slovakian top league HK Spisska Nova Ves on a contract covering the next season. The contract also includes an option for the 2027-28 season.

Lepaus played last season in Sweden’s Allsvenskan representing IK Oskarshamn. He recorded impressive stats of 15+36=51 in 52 regular season games and was fourth in the league’s scoring chart.

Lepaus has been playing abroad since early 2022. In addition to Sweden, he has also played in Switzerland, Germany, and Norway.

Before his years abroad, Lepaus played in the Liiga for five seasons, four of which were with Ilves and one with Ässät. In his Liiga career, Lepaus has played a total of 237 regular season games (50+70=120) and 12 playoff games (1+3).

– We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with Teemu. He is a creative forward who has played very effectively in high-quality European leagues. He is a skilled winger who can also play as a center. His strengths are creativity and playmaking, and we are primarily planning a significant role for him as a power play player, Spisska Nova Ves’s GM Richard Rapac commented in the club’s announcement.
